Description of the syllabus
This programe includes the content taught in the Course in Spanish Language and Culture and the Course in Spanish Studies and, over the course of a full academic year, aims to offer deeper insights into the Spanish language as well as the history, culture, and society of Spain.
Subjects:
- Subjects contained in the Diploma of Spanish Language and Culture (from October to Dicember 2019): Spanish Language and Spanish Culture.
- Subjects contained in the Diploma of Spanish Studies (from January to May 2020): Spanish Grammar, Oral Expression, Culture, Spanish Literature, History of Spain, History of the Spanish Art and Geography of Spain.

This programme of subjects is accompanied by a series of socio-cultural activities and trips to various places of great interest due to their artistic and cultural heritage.

The programme comprises the following subjects (click on each subject to see the content):
- Subjects contained in the Diploma of Spanish Language and Culture (October - December 2020)
Spanish Language: Grammatical, lexical, and functional content, and developing the various skills (speaking, reading, writing, and listening).
Spanish Culture: Designed to provide an insight into the lifestyle and culture of Spain as well as its customs, traditions, and products.
- Subjects contained in the Diploma of Spanish Studies (January - May 2021)
Spanish Grammar: Including grammatical and functional content, and developing oral and written skills (speaking, reading, writing, and listening). The course is taught at three different levels (B1, B2 and C1.1).
Oral Expression: Aimed at consolidating and expanding vocabulary and communicative functions.
Spanish Culture: Focusing on an understanding of everyday life and the characteristics of Spanish society as well as its customs and traditions.
Spanish Literature: Explaining the main aesthetic-literary movements in Spanish literature from its beginnings up to the 20th century, through authors and representative works from each period.
History of Spain: Analyses the most important periods and events in Spanish history.
History of Spanish Art: Explores the most representative examples of Spanish art from antiquity to the modern era.
Geography of Spain: Looking at the main natural, economic, and social features of Spain.

Level test: Participants must take an Online level test before the start of the course. The Centre shall provide the access information.
Orientation session: Students participate in an orientation session and a guided tour of the city on the first day of the course.
Assessment and certificate: At the end of the course, students are awarded a certificate of attendance. In order to be awarded the certificate of attendance, students must attend at least 80% of the lessons. In addition, if students pass the various tests set during the course, they will also be awarded a certificate of attainment listing the marks and grades obtained in each subject.
