The University of Valladolid has a strong international reputation for the Spanish language training, making it the perfect location for a language immersion experience.

The purpose of our summer programs is to give students the opportunity for an immersion experience in a genuine Spanish speaking environment.  One of the most important issues is to integrate our students into the host culture. 

In addition to providing intensive practice in all four language skills in Spanish, the experience in Spain introduces students to the contemporary life in Spain as a means of gaining a basic understanding of past and present society. It is, simultaneously, a fully accredited and challenging academic experience that allows students to accrue valuable course credit towards their degree or certificate.

All our programs combine language teaching with complementary activities and trips, which help students to become immersed in the language and culture of Spain.

Starting dates:

• May/June: 26/05/2025 or 02/06/2025
• July: 30/06/2025
• August: 18/08/2025
• September: 1/09/2025

Schedule:4 hours lessons/day (20 hours/week), in the mornings, from Monday to Friday.

Levels: A1,  A2 , B1 , B2 and C1

Place: Courses are taught at the University Language Centre, located in a safe and easily accessible area at the Miguel Delibes Campus, an ideal setting for learning and practicing Spanish. The campus also has many common leisure areas and facilities. Location map

Description

The intensive summer courses are designed to help you learn the language quickly and effectively.

The program will offer students a chance to practice grammar, comprehension, oral expression and interaction, reading and writing. Our methodology focused on a communicative & task-based approach that ensures best possible results. Most programs are flexible and adapted to different levels. Participants would be integrated into the international courses together with other international students.

Excursions and cultural activities: The Language Centre organises trips to internationally known places, most of which are World Heritage sites. Cultural activities will give you the chance to get to know the city of Valladolid as well as other nearby places of enormous tourist interest. You can enjoy Spanish life and customs and practise your Spanish.

Day trips and complementary activities form an integral part of the program and are all included in the total cost of the course. 

Assessment and certificate: at the end of the course, students are awarded a certificate of attendance (provided they attend at least 80% of the lessons). In addition, students who sit and pass the final examinations during the course will also be awarded a certificate of attainment listing the marks and grades.

Level test: Participants must take an Online level test before the start of the course. The Centre shall provide the access information.

Orientation session: Students participate in an orientation session and a guided tour of the city on the first day of the course.

Evaluation and certification

At the end of the course, students will be awarded a certificate of attendance. In order to be awarded this certificate, students must attend 80% of the lessons.
