Duration: 17 weeks (255 hours)
Schedule: Classes are held Monday to Friday, preferably in the mornings, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
Location: Language Center of the University of Valladolid, Miguel Delibes Campus, Paseo de Belén 13. (See map).
This course is designed for students who wish to improve their Spanish language skills and deepen their knowledge in one of the programs offered.
All programs include:
- A MODULE OF SPANISH LANGUAGE & CULTURE (170 Hours)
- A SPECIFIC MODULE for a degree-focused program such as: Art and culture, language competence, business, Spanish for healthcare and methodology in language teaching (85 hours)
The 5 available Spanish-Degree Path programs consist of the following:
PROGRAM 1 (ART & CULTURE)
This program combines the core module of general communication skills (E), common to all programs, with a specific module on Art, History & Literature in the Hispanic World (1).
Module E (Language & Culture) Classes: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (Monday to Friday).
- Total hours: 170.
- Content: grammar, Spanish culture, and oral expression.

Module 1 (Art, History & Literature) Classes: 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM (Monday to Thursday).
- Total hours: 85
- Content: Spanish literature, Spanish history, and Spanish art.

Levels offered: A1 (Beginner), A2 (Elementary), B1 (Intermediate).
PROGRAM 2 (ADVANCED LANGUAGE SKILLS)
This program combines the core module of general communication skills (E), common to all programs, with a specific module on Advanced Language Skills in Spanish (2).
Module E (Language and Culture) Classes: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (Monday to Friday).
- Total hours: 170.
- Content: grammar, Spanish culture, and oral expression.

Module 2 (Advanced Language Skills) Classes: 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM (Monday to Thursday)
- Total hours: 85
- Content: oral skills, writing skills, and use of vocabulary and grammar.

PROGRAM 3 (SPANISH FOR BUSINESS)
This program combines the core module of general communication skills (E), common to all programs, with a specific module on Spanish for Business (3).
Module E (Language and Culture) Classes: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (Monday to Friday).

- Content: grammar, Spanish culture, and oral expression.

- Content: business Spanish, communication techniques, and language for advertising.

PROGRAM 4 (SPANISH FOR HEALTHCARE)
This program combines the core module of general communication skills (E), common to all programs, with a specific module on Spanish for Health (4).
Module E (Language and Culture) Classes: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (Monday to Friday).
- Total hours: 170.
- Content: grammar, Spanish culture, and oral expression.

Module 4 (Health) Classes: 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM (Monday to Thursday).

- Content: oral communication skills in healthcare settings, written communication in healthcare, grammar, and health-specific vocabulary.

PROGRAM 5
(TEACHING METHODOLOGY FOR SPANISH LANGUAGE)
This program combines the core module of general communication skills (E), common to all programs, with a specific module on Teaching Methodology for Spanish as a Foreign Language (5).
Module E (Language and Culture) Classes: 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM (Monday to Friday).
- Total hours: 170.
- Content: grammar, Spanish culture, and oral expression.

Module 5 (Teaching Methodology) Classes: 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM (Monday to Thursday).
- Total hours: 85.
- Content: curriculum design and planning, integrating culture and literature in the Spanish language classroom, and educational projects.

First day of the course: On the first day of the course, students take a written placement test (lasting one hour), and are given an orientation session which includes a guided tour of the city.
Assessment and certificate: At the end of the course, students are awarded a certificate of attendance. In order to be awarded the certificate of attendance, students must attend at least 80% of the lessons. In addition, if students pass the various tests set during the course, they will also be awarded a certificate of attainment listing the marks and grades obtained in each subject.
Note: The Language Center reserves the right to open the courses and levels if the minimum number of applicants is not reached.
