SIMULATED PRACTICE (10 hours)
Assessing to what extent an individual’s physiological needs are at an optimal health level is part of nursing work.
In the 10 hours of practical training included in this course, students will be able to identify appropriate nursing care for a patient with active upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) and will learn to perform two important procedures in simulation: peripheral venous catheterization and nasogastric intubation.
In addition, using the full-body computerized adult patient simulator (SimManG3), they will be expected to solve a real clinical case—an exacerbation in a patient with COPD.
