Description of the course
The course is aimed at both teachers and other education professionals for United States or Canada who, already having some previous knowledge of Spanish, are interested in expanding and putting into practice their knowledge of the Spanish language and culture, as well as reflecting on the process of their teaching and learning.
This course offers the opportunity to share with teachers from Spain, and with colleagues from other educational contexts, a time in which they will talk about the Spanish language, its teaching, and some cultural aspects that will allow a tour of history and heritage, virtually visiting the various regions and discovering a great diversity of cultural products.
Methodology
The techniques applied in the classroom are based on the communicative approach, both in its notional-functional dimension as well as in the methodological aspect of the action-based approach.
When applying this method, students are considered in their three main areas: as social agents who learn a language as a means of communication that will enable them to engage in communicative interaction, as intercultural speakers which allows them to assimilate aspects of the new culture in an integrated manner, and as independent learners who are central to their own life-long learning.
